NO COMMUNITY CAN DO IT ALONE
It's more than a neighborhood, city, or county. Planning for the future requires a collective effort from strategic leaders, committed officials, and community advocates from every corner of the Twin Cities region. That's where we come in. The Met Council helps bring the best ideas and people together. We plan and coordinate the critical work that’s too large and complex for any one community to do alone.

SUSTAINABLE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
One of our greatest responsibilities is to create a long-range plan for the seven-county region every 10 years. This regional development guide – Imagine 2050 – is the shared vision for our future. It identifies challenges and opportunities to help drive growth and development, and it provides critical policies and actions for local cities and municipalities to use in their local comprehensive plans.
OUR PLAN, YOUR FUTURE
You want to be proud of where you live. So do we. Imagine 2050 is our plan to build on what makes our region great and unique – and to identify ways to make it better. It sets the vision for the region through 2050 and creates the foundation for accomplishing the type of work that matters most to you.
