POLICY 37: Partnerships for a livable region

This policy states:

Support efforts to keep the region attractive and affordable for residents, visitors, and businesses, through partnerships, both public and private. (Met Council/Local Government)

Actions

(Met Council) or (Local Government) or (Met Council/Local Government) are tags indicating responsibility for implementing the activity. 

Conduct and disseminate ongoing research to understand the dynamics and place-based needs of the region’s existing industries, businesses, and communities. (Met Council) 

Explore opportunities to develop and support programming that preserves the affordability of housing and commercial space in places experiencing significant investment. (Local Government) 

Support programming that reduces the cost-burden and uncertainties for industries, businesses, and entrepreneurs seeking to locate and/or expand in fully developed areas (in other words, redevelopment/renovation/reuse). (Local Government) 

Explore opportunities to bolster global competitiveness in innovative and developing fields. (Met Council/Local Government)
